HBO'S 'FAHRENHEIT 451' SPEAKEASY

The Experience
What a night!? Every corner you turned there were young photographers, models and/or entrepreneurs to share a laugh with. This was a truly inclusive event that anyone of any ethnicity, color or sexuality would have enjoyed. People like Alexa Mareka, Chella Man, Gabby Richardson, Alok, Cory Wade, Rain Dove, Patrick Church and more showed up and showed out! They all gave us fashion, elegance, intellectualism and an electric energy that filled the room and left you smiling, laughing or dancing every minute you found the space to do so! Mykki controlled that energy well by first giving us a fun yet informative interview with the 'Museum Mammy' herself, Kimberly Drew. Just when you thought that the energy had ceased, he surprised us by introducing Bosco. An amazing alternative artist who often utilized her calm yet explosive sound to throw all of that same energy from the beginning of the event back at us with hits from her latest project "b". I want to commend TheCCnyc and HBO for setting up such a great three day function and I can wait to see what they have in store for us in the future!
Michael Oloyede
London born entrepreneur/creative and BET 'dramedy' "Brooklyn. Blue. Sky" actor, Michael Oloyede was in the house. This 'kind-hearted' celebrity was more than happy to fully immerse himself in all of the night's festivities and influence/converse with attendees while also making time to show love to his Creative Collective team.
Kimberly R. Drew
Queer activist, Mike White opened this event by interviewing well respected writer, curator and activist, Kimberly Drew. Together they encouraged young artist and creators, giving them a multitutde of ways to survive this "dystopian society" we live in today by relating our real world obstacles as artists to the many challenges found in the fictional dystopia presented in HBO original film, "Fahrenheit 451".
Bosco
The alternative artist Bosco, came through and showed us just how Atlanta, GA gets down! Performing singles from her latest project "b", Bosco and her band left the crowd begging for an encore. She had vocals, energy, confidence and a 'swag' about her that couldn't be bought, not even at your local bodega. Everything about this performance screamed superstar! I can't wait for the next time I hear her live.
