About Me

Hey, my name is Jamon Davis. I’m a New York City-based photographer specializing in portraiture and journalistic style works. My heart lies in world of photojournalism but, I comfortably and actively shoot across a range of other genres as well. My ethos is that ‘photography is more than just taking pictures, it’s telling stories'.

In my recent years as a professional photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with young entrepreneurs such as Imani Ellis, founder of TheCCnyc, TV Host/Producer Kéla Walker, intellectual radio personality Charlamagne Tha God and film icon, Spike Lee. I’ve also been published in Essence and I continue to grow over the years. I truly enjoy what I do and wouldn't change it for anything.

Outside of photography, I’ve found a love for exploration. Being close to nature seems to be the source of my creativity. I always say, "...the most beautiful things can be found in the small moments we make a habit of looking over in life...". Things such as culture, music, love etc. are what I wishes to capture in my imagery. When I’m not taking photos, I’m probably listening to Lo-fi music, drinking cups of sweet tea and traveling as much as possible with my girlfriend, Cynthia who has been 100% supportive of my career. Most of my time is spent with either her or my two ‘homets’ Avanelle & Jasmine going on hundreds of random ice cream runs. Although I’m the only one who has pursued a career in photography, they both love it and have cameras of their own.  

I LOVE: Binge Watching New Netflix Series/ Eating Everything… Like Everything/ Playing Call Of Duty… The Sticks/ Reading Anime Manga’s (Shingeki No Kyojin).

I HATE: People Who Get Mad Over Little Things/ People Who Need You To Text Them Back Just As Fast As They Text You/ Places With Bad Wi-Fi (Like… It’s 2019) / Cheeeeeeese and Mayo… Ugh.

NO ONE KNOWS: I Am Addicted To Not Being Addicted To Anything. Once I Feel Like I Have To Do Something, I Rebel!
