Had a great time networking and conversing with the amazing crowd put together by Big Brother Big Sister NYC. Thank to the lovely Fatima for inviting me out to their Music and Arts Kick-Off and to SiriusXM, DropBox and Creative Noire for helping to contribute to the mood and sound of the night! Events like this are great for creating long term friendship and business partners. Once you rise to a certain level of fame these are people that you can partner with in order to give back to your community or a cause that you hold dare to your heart. I was surprised by LU KALA, the Canadian pop-star that came and completely kill the stage. I really enjoyed this event and I can’t wait for the next one that they invite me to. Hope you enjoy this visual recap!!!

BBBS of NYC is considered the founding agency of the nation’s youth mentoring movement. Since 1904, their mission has been to give all children in New York City who face adversity an opportunity to experience a strong, enduring professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationship with adults that will help change their lives for the better. They partner with families, volunteers, organizations, and the community to inspire positive change in all.

LU KALA

Shout out to Canadian Pop-Star, LU KALA for coming out and blessing us with some amazing vocals! Her songs have definitely been on repeat ever sense that night! Every note was on point and the mood created by both her and The Haïti Band complimented the event well! She was such a sweet girl when I sat down and spoke to her in the back room but, when she stepped out in front of that crowd there was such a power that she possessed! He voice filled the room and I’m sure even the people outside could hear the wonderful music she has created. To my surprise that same soft spoken woman had that inside of her. She performed her new hit song DCMO ( Don’t Count Me Out) for us and we loved every bit of it! The song is one of inspiration for those who have been or are still going through a hard time in their lives. I don’t want to box her into one genre but, if you are a fan of R&B you should definitely check out her music on YouTube, iTunes and Spotify!
