This is only my second time covering a film festival and I have to say every time gets a little better. I really appreciate the idea of young entrepreneurs actively working on new material and then getting the opportunity to showcase the product of their work to an audience both known and unknown. Writers Dominique R. Battle & Reggie Lochard did such an amazing job partnering with Co-writer/Director, Chris H. Greene on “When The Well Runs Dry”. Film quality, composition and acting was top tear but, what shined the most in this film was the authenticity of its script. Actors Donte Grey and Ricardo Manigat play characters who are challenged with living in a world without their mother, their superwoman. We can already imagine that as the film progresses the task quickly becomes a difficult one for two young black men. One, older, being catapulted into adulthood without a clue of how to juggle independence and the other, younger, left to deal with an array of emotions and no clear guide to teach him how to positively cope with the sudden lost. Overall the atmosphere was joyous, the film was incredible and I enjoyed myself. Hopefully the images below have captured the essence of this event and if you choose to watch the film just think, what would life be like if I lost my “foundation”.

Eric K. Thomas

Mr. Quintessential Gentlemen himself, Eric K. Thomas did an amazing job hosting the event for the night. He did great at controlling the space and really keeping the crowd captivated after the film was completed. The Q&A portion did not run long at all and he ushered us into the cocktail hour and networking smoothly. Thank you for having me and making me feel at home.
