My cousin Blake "Truly The Sound" Timmons, is hands down one of my favorite people to work with and no, I am not saying this because he is my blood relative. Truly, I admire the way he hones his craft and is 100% dedicated to reaching his goals. Which is why I was so eager to do an article on him and learn a little bit more about what inspires him. I've also noticed when brainstorming ideas, whether it be for videos or photography our minds always seem to sync up perfectly. For some reason, that failed miserably this day. His original plan tanked, due to fact that some people were incapable of attending his video shoot. So we had to think of a new way to bring his video to life with fewer volunteers. What video did you ask? *I CAN'T TELL YOU, ITS A TOP SECRET* Just know it involves an upcoming legend, Director Gambino. Sound and I, all of the ideas gladly looked to Gambino to come up with something and ... he did. It literally took him less than 5 seconds. The man's a genius. The idea was to capture behind the scenes footage of me photographing two beautiful women. One woman is representative of Sound's past relationship and the other of his current/future. Being that photos can't verbally communicate, I've decided to focus on the use of warm and cooler tones to visually convey the same message as the video. Also this was all shot on Doyer St., Chinatown, which was an old murder alley that all photographers are using to capture great bokeh (blur in the background).

The two images above clearly have distinct tones to them and this is all done purposely. Chardanay, in the photo above, is one of two young women that we used for this photo/video shoot. I've decided to use a warmer orange tone for her photo to repr…

The two images above clearly have distinct tones to them and this is all done purposely. Chardanay, in the photo above, is one of two young women that we used for this photo/video shoot. I've decided to use a warmer orange tone for her photo to represent innocence. She comes off as naturally outgoing and outspoken, but there is a certain shyness to her every move that proves her innocence shines over all other characteristics. This can be seen in her timid posture. Although her outfit is more revealing than the girl to her right which parallels her outgoing persona, she holds her arm, looking around guarding herself.

The girl above was the second model we used and in this case, she is the "envious" woman. She represents a past lover that Sound used to have a relationship with. Although very calm in her posture her face tells a different story. Her pose shows the…

The girl above was the second model we used and in this case, she is the "envious" woman. She represents a past lover that Sound used to have a relationship with. Although very calm in her posture her face tells a different story. Her pose shows the deep thought she is trapped in. That envy is directed toward the woman, in the left image, that is currently in a position that she was once in. Which is why I've decided to use a green aura, which consumes her. Green is often used by narrators when conveying that something is envious of something else. From her eyes, you can tell exactly who she is jealous and envious of.
