JAMON KENSHAY DAVIS

About Me

Jamon Davis is a New York City-based photographer specializing in portraiture and journalistic style works. Although his heart lies in photojournalism he is also comfortable and actively enjoys shooting across a range of other genres. Jamon's ethos is that ‘photography is more than just taking pictures, its telling stories'.

In his recent years as a professional photographer, Jamon has had the pleasure of working with young entrepreneurs such as Imani Ellis, founder of TheCCnyc, TV Host/Producer Kéla Walker, intellectual radio personality Charlamagne Tha God and film icon, Spike Lee. He's also been published in Essence and continues to grow over the years. He enjoys what he does and wouldn't change it for anything.

Outside of photography, Jamon has found a love for exploration. Being close to nature seems to be the source of creativity for him. He always says, "...the most beautiful things can be found in the small moments we look over in life..." Things such as culture, music, love etc. are what he wishes to capture in his imagery. His days are filled with Lo-fi music, cups of sweet tea and traveling as much as possible with his girlfriend, Cynthia who has been 100% supportive of his career. Most of the time it's either them two or his main friends Avanelle or Jasmine going on hundreds of random ice cream runs. He thinks that they've "subconsciously made a promise to themselves to try as many new foods and new things as they can so that they can enjoy life while they are young." Although he is the only one that pursued a career in photography, they all love it and have cameras of their own.
